OpenCart is an online store or catalogue management system that has been operating since 2005. OpenCart is designed to run on its own and is entirely self-sustaining.

WooCommerce is a WordPress extension, so you will need an existing WordPress installation to run it.

Both these platforms are open-source e-commerce platforms. Let's take a more thorough look at the features, usability, payment methods, performance, support and security.

Comparing these two platforms, in our eyes, the better online store is OpenCart, because it was created as an online store, unlike WooCommerce, which was originally intended as a blog platform. Especially when looking at selling goods and services in the Latvian market, multilingualism is very important.

OpenCart is specially designed to be able to integrate different languages (we offer Latvian language packages for OpenCart), WooCommerce - no, to get another language, you need to buy an extension.

OpenCart's user toolbar is much easier to use than WooCommerce, and it's also much faster with a large number of products.

These are the main reasons why we use OpenCart directly to create an online store for our customers.
